Here is a recipe for Chana (Curried Chick Peas & Potatoes): Heat oil in a large size pot, add curry powder, and ginger powder, cook for a few minutes, over high heat; do not burn. Add chopped onion and garlic, cook for about 2 minutes.

Add cubed potatoes; cook for an additional 2 minutes. Add Chick peas, mix in thoroughly with the potato/onion/garlic mixture, and cook for another 2 minutes. Add water, and salt, stir, bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and cook for an additional 20 – 25 minutes.

Ingredients for Chana:

  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 4 tsp Curry Powder
  • ½ tsp Ginger Powder
  • 1 Onion – med. size – chopped
  • 4 Cloves Garlic – chopped
  • 2 Potatoes – med/large – ½” cubed
  • 2 tins Chick Peas – drained and rinsed
  • 2 cups Water
  • Salt to taste
